Zobo is a popular West African beverage made from the dried petals of the Hibiscus sabdariffa plant, also known as roselle. The name “Zobo” comes from the Hausa word “Zoborodo”. It’s known for its deep red color, tangy flavor, and refreshing taste, often served chilled.

Ingredients: Dried Hibiscus Petals (Zobo Leaves)

Directions for Use:

  • Boil 2–3 cups of dried hibiscus petals in 5 liters of water.
  • Add chopped ginger, cloves, and pineapple peels or chunks.
  • Let boil for 20–30 minutes until color is deep and flavors blend.
  • Allow to cool, then strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth.
  • Add natural sweetener and lemon/lime juice to taste.
